The Affirmative Marketing Toolkit is an online resource for housing providers seeking to ensure their applicant pool reflects the diversity of our communities. It also makes it easier for housing providers to meet federal requirements for planning affirmative fair housing marketing efforts. The Toolkit format follows the HUD form, Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plan - Multifamily Housing, Form HUD-935.2A; using the Toolkit will help you complete the HUD form.

Toolkit Features include:

• Pulls census data for your housing project and compares it to existing project population demographics and applicant flow to identify the three groups least likely to apply for housing opportunities
• Provides community contact information, including local newspapers and social service agencies so you can promote open units to a more diverse population
• Identifies fair housing trainers in the Twin Cities available to instruct housing project staff
• Creates a variety of types and sizes of web-based or newspaper ads in English, Spanish and Somali
